Sometimes chance photographs can give something quite surprising

Long exposure at midnight in the New Forest, attempting to photograph the night sky, when a car drove past.

Photos with long exposure are usually pretty unique, but this one is so crisp and brilliant.
Really awesome. :D

hehe that is really amazing X3 I'd be saying thank you car xD cause if you were purposely trying to get a shot like that, chances of it being that good wouldn't be there ^^; at least that's what I think. I know when I try to get one thing I usually get another that is twice as good xD I love glowy things too so I like this image even more X3 at first I thought you edited the pic, then I read it and realised you hadn't ^^

Aw, thank you ^-^
Haha yeah. It was complete luck, it's hard to use a camera in almost complete darkness X3
Yeah, I was really surprised at how it turned out, the light is really strange - It's midnight but it looks like just after sunset, I'm pretty sure it's just the glow of the city of Southampton in the distance! XD
Thanks again, I really appreciate your comments :3

hehe you're welcome X3 and well I know if I tried to use my phone camera xD *only camera I have* well <<; I'd get a very poor shot ^^; so you've made me want to get a proper camera even more ^.^

Aw, yeah that's the bad thing about camera phones. Although my friend ~Penzone takes most of his pictures on his camera phone and they turn out pretty spectacular.

I took this one with a regular compact camera (10.2 megapixel), but I used a tripod which kept it completely steady.
I should be getting a nice digital SLR soon in a special deal that they do at my university though :3

Awesome, go for it :3

hehe ooo awesome 8D and your friend Penzone is lucky xD rare to find a phone that takes good pictures ^^ my other phone was good during the day but failed in the dark ^^; I might actually upload some very old pictures of my previous ferrets which sadly past away ^^;

Yeah, I think he chose it especially for it's camera ability.
Yes that tends to happen - night-time pictures require a lot longer exposure to let in enough light for the camera to register an image. If it's even a little unsteady during that time the picture ends up really blurry :<
If you can keep a camera completely still then you can even make photos with one made from a modified cereal box! Seriously, I've done it X3

Aw, I'm sorry :<
That sounds like a nice idea though, to share your memory of them :3

I'm really glad you like it, it's the only decent photo I managed to get that night. I was using a compact because I haven't gotten my new SLR yet ^^;
